Athens Sightseeing tour gives an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Short stop to the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896.

Driving along city center, pass by the Prime Minister's residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). Visit Acropolis archaeological site: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in the mind", the Parthenon.

Next visit at the place where at last the statues "found their home" : The new Acropolis museum.

• CAPE SOUNIO VISIT – Half day (afternoon) Daily

Departure for a wonderful drive along the coastal road, passing by the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni & Varkiza, to the most southern point of Attica the Cape Sounio, where the white marble pillars from the Temple of Poseidon stand.

You will have one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world (on a clear day you can see at least seven islands). The precipice is a sheer 197 foot drop to the sea.

On the way to Cape Sounio, you have a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and the little islands offshore. After visiting the Temple of Poseidon, you have time to walk on the rocky promontory of Sounio.

• ANCIENT CORINTH – Half day (morning)

Drive south west to the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean

Visit the ancient town of Corinth where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. The remains of the city which include the Agora (market place) and the Temple of Apollo (6th century BC) show how rich and important Corinth city was in ancient times.

Short stop at the site of ancient port of Cehries. Return back.

A short panoramic drive through Athens city center. At the slope of the sacred hill you will be able to admire and take shots of the illuminated Acropolis .

Visit at the New elegant Museum of Ancient Greek musical instruments where you will explore the greatest and only collection around the world with more than 60 reconstructed ancient greek musical instruments and enjoy the hidden paradise of music and sounds.

Then, a pleasant walk through the narrow picturesque streets of Plaka – the old city of Athens. Dinner in a greek typical stylish restaurant with live music and greek folk dancers.

Drive through the fertile plain of Biotia, crossing the towns of Thebes and Levadia.

Arrival at Delphi, the center of Ancient World - the "Omphalos" (Navel of Earth). On the slopes of Mount Parnassos, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Museum containing such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias.

Time for lunch in a local restaurant (included) or free time to admire the wonderful landscape.

Return to Athens via the picturesque village of ARACHOVA (short stop), built on the south slopes of Parnassos, well known for its attractive hand-woven carpets, rugs and quilts, as well as for its dairy products.

Continue to Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides, the city "rich in gold" of the ancient poets. Visit the remains of the ancient city including the Lion's Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, the Royal Tombs, etc. Departure for Nafplio - the first capital of modern Greece - through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress (short photo stop). Next stop at Epidaurus. Visit the ancient theater (4th century BC), famous for its remarkable acoustics.

Time for lunch in a local restaurant (included) or free time to admire the wonderful landscape. Return to Athens via the National road.

• CRUISE TO SARONIC GULF ISLANDS – Full day
  (Aegina, Poros, Hydra)

Transfer to Piraeus port for embarkation to the cruise boat.

Departure at approx. 08.30 hrs for Hydra island. Arrival at Hydra at 11.45 hrs. approx., where you will have free time for walk, shopping or swim. At 13.30 hrs embarkation and sail for Aegina passing through the narrow strait separating Peloponnesian coast from the island of Poros. Light snack on board. Arrival at Aegina at approx 15.30 hrs. Free time for swim or visit the Temple of Afea Athena (by local bus, optional on your own).

Embarkation at approx. 18.00 hrs and sail to Piraeus. Transfer back.
